It is a gift. Sometimes that is the only explanation for natural talent. Especially when it is as effortless as the musicians who have shared their talents on this album: Julia Vari (swinging vocals), José Negroni (piano, musical direction), Rafael Valencia (bass), and Nomar Negroni (drums).

On the album’s seven songs, Julia Vari and the celebrated Negroni’s Trio, feature an eclectic song list, all of which showcase their superb musicianship. These are not songs that one usually finds in the same grouping (La Bikina, Nature Boy, Siboney, Song for My Father, Noche de Ronda, C’est Si Bon, Historia de un Amor).

 Vari’s vocals are as sensitive as they are strong. She conveys exactly the full song, including its story, its perspective, and its strategy to include the listener into its world with a sense of adventure that is sublime.
