Great news: country music superstar Jason Aldean has released his 11th studio album, Highway Desperado. Produced by longtime collaborator Michael Knox, the album features the reigning ACM Artist of the Decade’s chart-topping Hot 100 #1 single, “Try That In A Small Town,” and follows the success of his recent double album.
So how is it? Well, he’s on a different place in life these days. After the years of touring, he’s seen a few things and he’s paid his dues. He’s lived. And it’s all in every note he sings. In other words, it’s the usual stellar performance delivering the usual strong material. In the end, it’s longevity that Aldean is chasing. And with albums as sturdy as Highway Desperado, he is winning the race.
“Try That In A Small Town”—the song of the year because it has the courage to call out what has really been going on—is the centerpiece of the disc. Another highlight is the GRAMMY & CMA Awards-nominated and ACM and iHeartRadio Award-winning “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood.
Jason Aldean is more than just a country music superstar. He’s willing to use his talent to protect what he loves. He has built his career on the road, venue by venue… giving voice to the ticket-buyers. If the critics don’t get it, the highway desperado’s fans do.
And that’s who matters.
