New Bluegrass/Country: Daryl Mosley — ‘Long Days & Short Stories’

Daryl Mosley‘s, Long Days & Short Stories, is an opportunity to be reminded that somehow it will all be alright. What a pleasure to hear the songs, instruments, voices, and sentiments that make up the album. It’s seldom the case that the music and lyric are equally as strong as the performers—especially when Daryl Mosley (and company) are such strong and affecting artists. It’s also something to celebrate. When you listen to Long Days & Short Stories don’t be surprised if your first impulse is to want to tell a friend about it. It’s an uplifting, heart-touching, life-affirming experience… the kind that will allow you to take a deep breath, take a step back, and appreciate that we’re (in the words of one compelling song) “all still here.” This is the music that reaffirms all the faith that life can secretly wear down.

So here’s a thank you to Daryl Mosley (vocals, bass), Danny Roberts (mandolin), Tony Wray (guitar, banjo), Jamie Harper (fiddle), Sarah Davison (piano), and the soothing pillow of background vocals by Jaelee Roberts, Jeanette Williams, Jeff & Sheri Easter, and New Tradition (Richie Dotson, Ken White, Danny Roberts). Thanks for making music… the kind that reassures and reminds us that music reflects who we really are.
