Singer/songwriter Nathan McEuen grew up surrounded by skilled musicians, performing with his father, John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,. With over 40 years of touring and more than 3,000 performances (on platforms such as American Idol, The Stagecoach Festival, the Grand Ole Opry, The Tonight Show, Music City Roots, and Austin City Limits). He co-produced “The McEuen Sessions – For All the Good” in 2011 and released several acclaimed albums through his independent label, Lint Records. With this rich musical heritage and a passion for songwriting (having composed over 200 songs), Nathan’s artistry is currently connecting with fans via his new EP, My One and Only. It’s a recording that covers a lot of musical and atmospheric territory with impressive style.
The songs on the five-track EP were all written or co-written by Nathan, including the title track, which he collaborated on with acclaimed songwriter/artist Mason Williams. The result is a smart, affecting, introspective collection of songs whose chords harmonize with the sighs that life produces, and whose rhythms fall into step with the beat of a heart (or two, together). My personal favorite is track three, “Up To No Good” (co-written with Chelsea Williams), an intriguing number with infinite possibilities that is the epitome of narrative “push” using the melodic “pull” to guide the listener on an adventurous tease that inevitably leads to hitting the “repeat” button.
