Kid Rock’s ‘SWEET SOUTHERN SUGAR’ Debuts On Top Multiple Charts

Nearly three years since his last studio album, superstar Kid Rock returns with Sweet Southern Sugar (via BMG/BBR Music Group) claiming No. 1 on both Independent and Rock Albums charts, No. 4 Country Albums, No. 5 Digital Albums, and No. 8 on the Billboard 200. This solidifies the five-time Grammy nominee’s ninth Top 10 album on the Billboard 200, selling over 26 million albums to date.

Co-produced by Kid Rock and veteran Justin Niebank (Vince Gill, Ashley Monroe), Sweet Southern Sugar enlists a multitude of seasoned Nashville musicians to collaborate on a sound that brings Kid Rock back to his Country-charged roots. In addition to production duties, Kid Rock wrote or co-wrote eight of the album’s ten tracks. Introspective songs like “Stand the Pain” and “I Wonder” achieve new levels of musical and emotional depth, while also maintaining a swagger and intelligence that are hallmarks to Rock’s musicality.

Associated Press takes note, “there are satisfying arena-ready rockers like ‘Greatest Show on Earth,’ ‘American Rock ‘n Roll” and “Stand the Pain” along with proud Southern-fried tunes like ‘Tennessee Mountain Top’ and the playful, bluesy ‘Raining Whiskey.’

Kid Rock’s current single “Tennessee Mountain Top,” continues to breakthrough and leave its mark on Country radio.
