Madeleine Peyroux — Careless Love

There is nothing careless about Madeleine Peyroux’s long awaited re-release of her 2004 album, Careless Love. With her smoky voice and knowing delivery, she makes each song on this Deluxe Edition her own, whether she’s singing vintage tunes by W.C. Handy and Hank Williams, or contemporary songs by Leonard Cohen and Elliott Smith. Producer Larry Klein weaves strands of acoustic blues, country ballads, classic jazz, torch songs and pop into a vibrant fabric that is both timeless and thoroughly up to date, with Peyroux’s arresting vocals always front and center.

Appearing on the album are: Madeleine Peyroux, Dean Parks, Larry Goldings, David Piltch, Jay Bellerose, Lee Thornburg, Scott Amendola.

This expanded version includes not only the original album but the singer’s previously-unreleased live performance at 2005’s Festival de Jazz de Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain. The album will be available digitally, as a two-CD set, and on 180 gram vinyl as a 3-LP set, housed in a triple gatefold jacket. It captures the joy of live performance and it’s well worth the wait.
