Darin and Brooke Aldridge — ‘Faster And Farther’

Two of the album’s best songs (“Kingdom Come” and “Lila”) come from New Grass Revival member Pat Flynn. That should give you some idea of the high level of quality that can be found in Faster And Farther, the new release from Darin and Brooke Aldridge. The album is a refreshingly well-rounded contemporary bluegrass listening experience. The husband and wife duo know how to put together a satisfying album that highlights all of their many strengths. As  if that weren’t enough, they also invite Vince Gill to add his vocal expertise to the project.

It’s a special type of harmony that divides a top bluegrass act from all of the rest, and Darin and Brooke Aldridge have it. They toss the intertwined notes across the chords being played, giving seemingly little regard to them, yet each tone lands perfectly, somewhere between the ear and the heart.

I don’t know about the speed involved (that’s always unpredictable), but I will bet that the success of Darin and Brooke Aldridge will go much further.
