The album is produced by Parker and recorded, mixed and mastered (radiantly) by Rock Romano, In the Dark features the Sparky Parker Band: Sparky Parker – guitars, vocals; Phillip Lock – bass, backing vocals; and Kevin Berry – drums, with additional keyboards/organ by William Gorman.

In the Dark consists of seven original tunes, plus riveting covers of songs by The Rolling Stones (“Dead Flowers”), Slim Harpo (“Shake Your Hips’) and Bobby “Blue” Bland (“I Wouldn’t Treat a Dog (The Way You Treated Me).” While his vocals are clear, bright, and inspired, it is his guitar work that really showcases Parker’s gifts. There’s a push/pull quality to his guitar performances that result in several satisfying surprises.
