Just in time for Independence day, Houston Bernard released “Freedom,” an anthemic and charitable single which focuses on three different story lines sharing a common message. Bernard first heard the song in early 2020 just after the world experienced the first shutdown from COVID and knew that as soon as he had the chance to record it, he would. “The reason I wanted to do this song is because it really spoke to me not only because of what was happening in the world when I first heard it, but because of the three stories of Freedom.,” Bernard explained. Over a year later, once the world began to slowly reopen, Bernard flew to Nashville and was finally able to record the song.
“Freedom” was written by Neil Thrasher and Steven Lee Olsen.
